Meet the Editors
Carling Ramsdell
Carling Ramsdell is an MFA student in Eastern Washington University’s Creative Writing program. She is also a freelance writer of children’s books and has worked with Flock literary magazine and the Santa Fe Writers Project. Her short story, “The Mermaid Kingdom,” is published in issue 53.1 of The Laurel Review, and you can find her review of John Englehardt’s Bloomland online in the SFWP Quarterly. She assumed THE LIT MUG was a joke, but accidentally took it far enough that it evolved into a serious aspiration.

Carling and Steven met in college during their freshman orientation when Steven introduced himself and Carling got so awkward that she ran away. Just like THE LIT MUG, their friendship is a joke taken too far.
Steven Christopher McKnight
Steven Christopher McKnight is a playwright, essayist, and improv sorcerer from Obscure-Abandoned-Coal-Town, Pennsylvania. He has a BA in Theatre Studies and Creative Writing from Susquehanna University. Steven has been published in The Owen Wister Review, Havik Journal, and Bluntly Magazine. He has a short story forthcoming in the Summer 2021 issue of Gargoyle Magazine. Steven is currently Literary Director and Head Writer for Paradigm Lost, LLC. His dream in life is to return to Prague where, in the summer of 2019, a one-eyed one-armed blacksmith going by “Hephaestus” gifted him a small cast iron goat.

Steven and Carling met at university during their freshman orientation. Steven is currently working on a chapbook-length collection of short stories based vaguely off of Carling's failed romantic relationships.
Jena Lui
Jena Lui is a current student from Susquehanna University’s Class of 2023. She is an Honors Program participant with a double major in Publishing & Editing and Creative Writing and a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She is a writer and editor for the Susquehanna University chapter of HerCampus. Her poem, “Our Family is Beautiful,” can be found on Quarantine Literary. In addition, her poem, “Grandmother’s Photo,” was published through Omnivisum Press. She is thrilled to be part of the “lit” journey otherwise known as THE LIT MUG.
Emily Hizny
Emily Hizny is a Creative Writing and Publishing & Editing double major at Susquehanna University lurking around Twitter as @OctoEmily. Her work has been featured in SU's literary magazine RiverCraft as well as Ice Lolly Review, Inertia Teens, HOLYFLEA!, Clandestine Lit, The Birdseed, and Melbourne Culture Corner. In her free time, you can find her sewing, playing video games, and being a part-time octopus. When she heard about THE LIT MUG, she thought it was the coolest project and is delighted to be part of the team.
